The United Nations has designated October 11 as International Day of the Girl “to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.” From the beginning of time, women and girls living in India have been deprived of their fair place by a patriarchal society, ingrained in the age old belief that women are a burden to the community. From female infanticide to illiteracy and child marriage, the plight of little girls in India remains a matter of utmost concern.
Love One More stands with women and children and helps to uplift the life of poor girls in rural Indian communities. In a country like India, where gender inequality has been a social vice that has persisted through changing times, giving basic education to young girls in itself becomes a challenge.
Love One More’s children homes are safe spaces where girls can live, learn, pray and laugh without the fear of being let down. We have changed the lives of many girls, by bringing hope and light to darkness in which they have resided until they were able to support themselves. Our interference through our Love One More campaigns have created opportunities for education and awareness about the dangers affecting vulnerable children in rural India and have prevented a large number of abuse and child marriage cases. We are so thankful to God for guiding and helping us to continue so that many lives has been saved and will be saved as a result of our efforts!
You can also contribute and help us with provide a future to a girl living in India by sponsoring a child or giving a general donation. We will work relentlessly so that no girl child would have to go through heart wrenching emotional and physical abuse anywhere. Happy international girl day!
