Celebrating the Women of Love One More

March 13, 2020

March is a month that is full of celebrating women. March 8th is International Women’s Day, and in the United States, the whole month of March is dubbed National Women’s History Month. In the United States, equality for women has increased and completely changed from where it was 100, or even 50 years ago. For instance, this year brings the National Women’s History Month theme of “Shall Not Be Denied: Women Fight for the Vote.” In the United States, women received the right to vote in August, 1920. This is just one of many examples how the culture has changed to include women, to lift up women, to give women rights. The stories of women who fought for future women’s rights are incredible.

At Love One More, this month we want to celebrate the incredible women who have played a tremendous role in our ministry. The first one that comes to mind is our fearless child care director, Becky. Becky is the face of our ministry; she constantly works to help children in and out of Love One More’s care. She is one of the many people whose heart is broken for the children in India, but also one of the few people who is making changes and implementing programs to help. One program in particular is our Safe Spaces for Children Campaign. This campaign works to bring awareness and education about the dangers of sexual abuse, child marriage, child labor, child and human trafficking, and other issues surrounding children.

In our Creating a World Fit for Children video, Becky says:

“There are social, political, economic changes that are constantly happening around the world and particularly in India as well. These throw out new challenges that put children at risk and makes it harder for us to achieve goals set previously. We need to rethink different ways and methods on how we can meet these challenges that children face. We need to be astute about the situations in different countries and how governments can come together, how non-governmental organizations can come together and work together to ensure the safety and security of every child.”

Thank you Becky for all the work you do! The Lord is using you powerfully. And thank you to all our partners and sponsors, because you bring so much encouragement, prayer, and support!

Please join us in praying for the children in our care, as well as Becky and all other workers who are working on the field to love and care for these children.
